Vintage Mid-Century Spanish Basque Wooden Chest Hand Carved Antique Trunk Rare

This fascinating antique chest was handcrafted and intricately carved by a man in Bilbao, which is in the Basque Country region of Spain. It was acquired by a Basque woman in the mid-1970s while visiting Bilbao, who then brought it to the United States where she lived. It eventually made its way to Oregon. The type of wood is unknown.

It is very heavy and sturdy and a gorgeous medium brown color. The metal hardware is in excellent working condition but are a bit rusted, which adds character. The latch on the front does not have a key. 50" x 17" and 29 tall.

This item is located in Lake Oswego, OR 97035. It is very heavy but two strong people should be able to handle it.
