This listing is for the relatively small or mid sized lamp that you see in the photos. Judging from its overall appearance and the plug on it, I would guess that it is from the 1950's or 1960's but the plug makes me think that it might be older. I believe that the horse is hand carved. Tools were likely used to make the rest of the lamp. Personally, I find the lamp and the horse to be charming and comforting.I have not found any indications as to who made it. I think that it was probably made in America and that it is possibly one of a kind. The shade is the type that clips to the light bulb. Measured to the top of the shade, it measures close to 20 inches tall. Without the shade or light bulb, it measures close to 15 ½ inches tall to the top of the fixture for the bulb. Including the block that it is standing on, the horse and block measure close to 7 inches tall. The wooden part of the lamp measures close to 12 ¾ inches tall. The diameter of the base of the lamp measures close to 7 inches. Measured to where the plug begins, the cord measures about 58 inches long. With the shade it weighs about 3 pounds 9 ounces. The condition is much like you see it in the 25 photos after the general description.
Without the shade, the lamp is generally in very good to excellent condition. The shade shows some wear on an area along the bottom edge and a spot of white paint. There are a few very tiny specks of white paint on the wood. There is a short and shallow scratch or gouge on the horse's back that I think might be from when it was made. There are no cracks or chips in the wood. There are some minor irregularities in the finish that you can see in the close-ups that I believe are from when it was made. The felt on the bottom of the base shows some damage. The cord is either dirty or (I think) it has been stained to make it darker.
The lamp is working fine. There is some small amount of dust on the plug and the lamp that I missed when I wiped it off previous to taking the photos.I do not know how much longer the light bulb will last. Otherwise, lamp and shade are generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. I guarantee this lamp to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. 25 photos should load with this listing.
