Vintage Early Middle 1900s Dogon African Mask Mid Century Sculpture carving
This wonderfully abstract Dogon mask was collected by a Peace Corps volunteer in the late 1970s and it was quite old at that time. Measuring 12 tall x 7 wide x 4 ½ deep, the piece has use-worn and weathered dry wood finish with shrinkage cracks and a large chip/chunk missing at the top. The holes on the sides appear to have been drilled WITHOUT modern bit and the inside looks use-worn as well.
